My Mission

After years immersed in the competitive equestrian world, I’ve learned one undeniable truth: true success begins with balancing the basics. These foundations are what make progress at every level smooth, sustainable, and rewarding.

My mission is to reframe modern horse training into a grounded, holistic practice that builds lasting partnerships. When horses are physically sound, mentally balanced, and emotionally connected to their humans they are bound to thrive.

That’s why I created The 3 Day Way: a signature approach rooted in three essential pillars of equine wellness:

1. Bodywork

Addressing the root cause of imbalance through:
Massage to release tension and improve circulation
Acupressure to restore internal energy flow
Reiki to support emotional healing and deep relaxation

2. Groundwork

Developing trust and self-regulation through:
Stretching for mobility and nervous system release
Strengthening exercises for posture and power
Balancing the body for calm, centered movement

3. Ridden Work

Creating partnership in motion through:
Rhythm to regulate mind and body
Relaxation to allow softness and responsiveness
Connection to build true harmony between horse and rider

This integrative method allows me to support each horse from the inside out. Whether I’m identifying hidden restrictions in the body, building strength from the ground, or refining communication under saddle, every step of the process is rooted in patience, awareness, and respect.

I’ve had the privilege of learning directly from Eventing champions Boyd Martin, David O’Connor, and Tamie Smith, who instilled in me the values of patience, clarity, and consistency under saddle. Yet, it’s the horses themselves who have been my greatest teachers. They’ve shown me the power of slowing down, listening deeply, and honoring the smallest moments. I believe that every detail matters—from how a horse stands at rest, the texture of their coat, and the subtle shifts in their expression. These details aren’t simply cosmetic; they’re windows into the horse’s internal balance and emotional state, and they guide everything I do.

While my heart remain in the show rings, my greater purpose is to advocate for all horses—competitive or not—to perform, feel, and live at their best. Whether I’m helping a young horse step into their first event with confidence, supporting a seasoned athlete, or realigning with a backyard companion, I believe performance and wellness can, and must, go hand in hand.

At its heart, The 3 Day Way is about more than technique. It’s about creating space for healing, understanding, and growth on both sides of the partnership. Training from the inside out to create success both inside the show ring and out.

Because balance is not the goal, its the foundation.

Testimonials

"Positive Influence"

"Horse First"

Kelly is one of the rare athletes who truly always puts the horse first. She is kind, patient, and supportive with both riders and their horses. If you’re looking for a trainer who can help you accomplish your goals while still prioritizing your horse’s welfare and your bond, you’ve come to the right place!

My daughter and I met Kelly in 2021 after we began looking for a new stable for riding lessons. Over the next two years, Kelly taught my daughter more than I could have ever imagined. She not only learned the technical aspects of horsemanship—how to properly care for horses, maintain her tack and equipment, and prepare for competitions—but also the importance of working diligently while having fun.

Kelly teaches with patience, positivity, and genuine care for each of her students. Under her guidance, my daughter grew not only as a confident and capable rider but also as a responsible and resilient young woman. I am deeply grateful for the positive influence Kelly has had on her life.

"Excellent Perspective"

My sensitive mare does not always enjoy bodywork, but really liked Kelly’s manner and modality. I noticed she seemed calmer immediately after her sessions and the changes in her body have held. Kelly’s broad knowledge base and experience give her an excellent perspective; I highly recommend her!
